About The Position

Barnes‑Jewish Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist (CST) to join their dynamic team in the OR, specifically in Pod 3, which specializes in cardiothoracic, transplant, and vascular surgeries. This role involves performing surgical duties under the direct supervision of a registered nurse. Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• <2 years or military equivalent experience
• Surgical Technician certification

Nice To Haves

• Accredited Surgical Program completion
• Experienced candidates preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepares operating room for surgical patient, reviews preference cards to determine surgeon needs, obtains the necessary supplies and equipment for the procedure, ensures cleanliness of room, and assists with opening sterile supplies.
• Performs surgical scrub duties, and assists with the collection, identification, and disposition of cultures and specimens.
• Assists in turning over of room, and ensures supplies, instruments, and equipment are returned to proper location.
