About The Position
The Surgical Technologist SE position in the Surgery Room at High Point Medical Center is a full-time role responsible for ensuring quality patient care, safety, and advocacy. This role involves critical thinking, anticipation and management of case-specific needs under the supervision of an RN. The technologist is also responsible for the cleanliness and management of instruments, equipment, and supplies, effective communication with the team and patients, and demonstrating cost containment activities.
Requirements
- Graduation from a Surgical Technology program or from an accredited school of Nursing.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
- Functions effectively under stressful and difficult situations

- Certification in specialty area preferred.
Responsibilities
- Ensures quality patient care, safety, and advocacy through critical thinking, anticipation and management of case specific needs, under direct supervision of the RN.
- Ensures complete, accurate and timely care, cleanliness and management of instruments, equipment and supplies.
- Communicates to the team, co-workers and patients in an effective, positive and professional manner. Demonstrates effective, positive, professional manners while exercising verbal and nonverbal communication to the multidisciplinary team, co-workers, and patients.
- Takes personal responsibility and initiative for performance, professional growth and development.
- Demonstrates cost containment activities of instruments and inventory.
