About The Position
A healthcare system near Lake Charles, Louisiana, is hiring a full-time, direct-hire Surgical Technologist for its cardiovascular surgery setting. The role performs technical duties to assist in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients. The position is on the day shift and pays $45.00 per hour. The Surgical Technologist prepares the Operating Room by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies according to the type of case. The role also maintains aseptic techniques, monitors for situations that could cause a breach in aseptic technique, transports patients to and from the Operating Room suite, and identifies and cares for biological specimens.
Requirements
- Surgical Technologist certification or an LVN/LPN license is required.
- At least 2 years of cardiovascular (CV) experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform technical duties to assist in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients.
- Prepare the Operating Room by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies according to the type of case.
- Maintain aseptic techniques and actively monitor situations that could lead to breaches in aseptic technique.
- Transport patients to and from the Operating Room suite.
- Identify and care for biological specimens.
