About The Position
Join the outpatient surgery team at Saint John Hospital in Leavenworth, Kansas, as a Surgical Technologist. In this role, you will support surgical procedures by preparing instruments and equipment, maintaining sterility, assisting the surgical team, and helping ensure safe, smooth operations. The position is per diem/PRN, with an 8-hour shift listed and hours of Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross upon hire, and maintained.
Nice To Haves
- Experience scrubbing minor and major procedures across various surgical specialties.
- Graduation from an ORT training program within six months of hire, or on-the-job training with at least two years of experience in a surgical setting.
Responsibilities
- Set up surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment for procedures.
- Maintain a sterile environment and sterilize instruments before surgery.
- Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon and assist with various tasks.
- Count and manage sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures.
- Help position and drape patients appropriately for surgery.
- Communicate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth operations.
