About The Position

Performs direct and indirect technical tasks for patients before, during, and after surgical interventions. The role includes preparing the surgical suite, supporting patient preparation and positioning, applying aseptic practices, and assisting the surgical team throughout procedures. Employees are expected to protect confidential information, comply with HIPAA and information security policies, and follow the company’s Code of Business Conduct and applicable laws and policies.

Requirements

• CPR certification from the American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
• For Surgical Technologists hired after 12/29/2020, completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program and nationally recognized certification (CST or TS-C) within 6 months of hire, unless qualifying pre-existing employment applies.
• For the pre-existing employment qualification, employment as a surgical technologist at this facility before 12/29/2020, or at another facility within the two years prior to 12/29/2020.

Nice To Haves

• One year of Surgical Technologist experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up the surgical operating suite with appropriate instruments and supplies.
• Use proper aseptic techniques and standard precautions; follow policies for medication and specimen handling.
• Assist with preparing, positioning, and draping patients, and participate in the surgical pause to confirm the correct patient and surgical site.
• Anticipate and adapt to surgeon preferences and patient-care variables, and contribute to updating surgeon preference materials.
• Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts.
• Use and care for resources to promote a cost-effective and efficient environment for patients.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.
• Comply with HIPAA, privacy and information security requirements, the Code of Business Conduct, applicable laws, company policies, and training requirements.
