About The Position
The Surgical Technologist (ST) in the Operating Room ensures quality patient care, safety, and advocacy through critical thinking, anticipation and management of case specific needs, under the direct supervision of the RN. This role is responsible for ensuring complete, accurate, and timely care, cleanliness, and management of instruments, equipment, and supplies. The Surgical Technologist communicates effectively with the team, co-workers, and patients in a positive and professional manner, demonstrating initiative for performance, professional growth, and development. They also participate in cost containment activities related to instruments and inventory.
Requirements
- Graduation from a Surgical Technology program.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
Nice To Haves
- Certification in specialty area preferred.
Responsibilities
- Ensures quality patient care, safety, and advocacy through critical thinking, anticipation and management of case specific needs, under direct supervision of the RN.
- Ensures complete, accurate and timely care, cleanliness and management of instruments, equipment and supplies.
- Communicates to the team, co-workers and patients in an effective, positive and professional manner. Demonstrates effective, positive, professional manners while exercising verbal and nonverbal communication to the multidisciplinary team, co-workers, and patients.
