About The Position

This is a part-time PRN Surgical Technologist position in the Operating Room at High Point Medical Center. The role involves assisting with PTO coverage and ensuring quality patient care, safety, and advocacy. The technologist will manage instruments, equipment, and supplies, communicate effectively with the team and patients, and demonstrate cost containment activities.

Requirements

• Graduation from a Surgical Technology program.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
• Functions effectively under stressful and difficult situations

Nice To Haves

• Certification in specialty area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensures quality patient care, safety, and advocacy through critical thinking, anticipation and management of case specific needs, under direct supervision of the RN.
• Ensures complete, accurate and timely care, cleanliness and management of instruments, equipment and supplies.
• Communicates to the team, co-workers and patients in an effective, positive and professional manner. Demonstrates effective, positive, professional manners while exercising verbal and nonverbal communication to the multidisciplinary team, co-workers, and patients.
• Takes personal responsibility and initiative for performance, professional growth and development.
• Demonstrates cost containment activities of instruments and inventory.
