About The Position

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to support surgical services in a fast-paced operating room environment. This role works under the direct supervision of the Surgeon and Registered Nurse to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care throughout surgical procedures.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (Civilian or Military)
NBSTSA Certification (Required) – must be active and maintained
BLS Certification (Required)
Strong knowledge of sterile techniques and surgical procedures
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
Strong teamwork and communication skills

Nice To Haves

Orthopedic experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain the operating room, ensuring all instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are ready for procedures
Maintain strict adherence to infection control and sterility standards (AORN guidelines)
Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and sterile supplies
Handle surgical instruments, retractors, sutures, and assist with sponge/needle counts
Prepare, label, and manage medications under RN and surgeon supervision
Ensure proper handling, labeling, and transport of surgical specimens
Assist with patient positioning, transport, and post-procedure transfers
Operate and troubleshoot surgical equipment including lights, suction, and sterilizers
Support room turnover and restocking between procedures
Collaborate with surgical team to ensure availability of case-specific equipment and instruments
Participate in staff meetings, training, and continuous education
Maintain patient privacy, dignity, and safety at all times
