About The Position

Monterey Peninsula Surgery Center is looking to add high quality support staff to our team. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Surgical Tech to join our outpatient surgery team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in surgical procedures and a commitment to maintaining a sterile and efficient operating room environment. You will work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the success of various surgical procedures.

Requirements

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Scrub Tech in an outpatient or surgical setting.
In-depth knowledge of surgical instruments, sterile techniques, and operating room procedures.
Strong attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
High school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree or surgical technology program preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain sterile environments for surgical procedures.
Assist surgeons and surgical staff by providing the necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment during operations.
Perform thorough instrument counts before, during, and after procedures to ensure accuracy and patient safety.
Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and respond quickly to requests during procedures.
Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization in the operating room and surrounding areas.
Assist with patient positioning and draping as needed.
Document and report any issues or concerns related to surgical instruments or equipment.
Adhere to all infection control policies and procedures.
