About The Position

The Orlando Avenue Surgery Center (OASC) is a state-of-the-art surgery center located in Winter Park, FL. OASC is a multi-specialty surgery center with a focus on women's health/GYN. We have an immediate opening for a PRN Surgical Technologist. This is a challenging position with a surgery center that continues to grow.

Requirements

Successful completion of a formal surgical technologist program (diploma) is REQUIRED.
BLS (AHA or Red Cross) and evidence of a negative TB test within the last 6 months
Experience in general surgery and GYN required.
Ability to demonstrate good judgment, with the ability to communicate accurately and concisely.
Excellent interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

Certification is preferred.
Experience in plastics and dermatology is a plus!

Responsibilities

Prepare, stock, and maintain supplies and equipment for the Operating Room (OR).
Clean and care for all surgical equipment in accordance with OSHA guidelines; assist with instrument sterilization.
Function as a scrub technician, demonstrating knowledge of aseptic techniques and proper equipment setup and usage.
Assist the surgeon and anesthesiologist during sterile surgical procedures.
Monitor, maintain, and report any repair needs for surgical suite equipment; manage surgical inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Support patient care by assisting with safe transport throughout Pre-Op, Procedure Room, and Recovery areas.
Assist the RN during embryo transfer procedures.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Procedure Room.
