About The Position

Mass Eye & Ear (MEE) is offering a sign-on bonus for new and experienced Surgical Technologists! We are offering a $10,000 sign-on bonus for new hires who accept a full-time offer. The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) functions as an integral member of the perioperative team within the 6th Floor Ophthalmology Surgical Suites. The CST is responsible for preparing and maintaining a safe, efficient, and sterile surgical environment while providing direct support to surgeons and nursing staff throughout ophthalmic surgical procedures. This role requires advanced knowledge of ophthalmic instrumentation, microsurgical techniques, specialty equipment, and surgical workflows to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The Certified Surgical Technologist anticipates the needs of the surgical team, prepares surgical supplies and equipment, maintains sterile technique, and assists with a wide variety of ophthalmic procedures including cataract, retina, cornea, glaucoma, oculoplastics, refractive, and complex eye surgeries. The CST collaborates closely with surgeons, registered nurses, anesthesia staff, and support personnel to promote patient safety, operational efficiency, and exceptional patient care.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Experience as a Surgical Technologist I or in a similar role 0-1 year required
  • Knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, and sterile techniques.
  • Familiarity with surgical equipment and technology used in the operating room.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle stressful situations during surgeries.
  • Understanding of infection control protocols and patient safety measures.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year experience as Surgical Technologist in a similar setting 1-2 years preferred
