About The Position
Join Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, Idaho, as a full-time, night-shift Operating Room Surgical Technologist. The role supports patient care before, during, and after surgery and involves preparing and distributing surgical supplies, equipment, and instruments. Portneuf Medical Center is a 205-bed regional Level II Trauma Center and tertiary referral hospital with services including neonatal and adult intensive care, orthopedic and cardiac care, cancer care, imaging, and primary and specialty care.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program or Certified Surgical Technologist status.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and before providing direct patient care.
Responsibilities
- Assist with patients’ preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative nursing care by performing routine and delegated duties in accordance with department and hospital standards, practices, and policies.
- Prepare and distribute surgical supplies, equipment, and instrumentation before, during, and after procedures.
- Demonstrate knowledge of aseptic principles and AORN guidelines.
- Maintain clinical competence and pursue professional development.
- Participate in responsible management of departmental resources.
- Take calls as required by the department.
