About The Position
Baptist Health is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to join our Surgical Services Team at Baptist Medical Center Clay in Fleming Island. This is a full-time day shift position. Candidates must be flexible to work weekends, holidays, and participate in the required call rotation. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in supporting surgeons and the operating room team by maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring safe, efficient surgical procedures.
Requirements
- Less than 1 year Surgical Technologist Experience
- Associate's degree required or equivalent experience in lieu of education.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Nice To Haves
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSA or NCCT preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assemble, organize, and maintain a sterile field for operative procedures.
- Anticipate the surgeon's needs throughout each procedure and prepare instruments and supplies accordingly.
- Ensure proper handling and disposition of surgical specimens and instruments.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to minimize anesthesia time and promote patient safety.
- Participate in the required call rotation.
