About The Position
Vassar Brothers Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Technologist to function as the scrub nurse and assist with nursing care activities and surgical services for a specific group of neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, or geriatric patients. The role follows the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the Nursing Department and Hospital Administration. The Surgical Technologist must demonstrate the knowledge and skills needed to provide appropriate care for the ages of patients served by the nursing unit or patient care department. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of previous medical/surgical and/or Operating Room experience.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification through a nationally accredited educational program, such as the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
Responsibilities
- Function as the scrub nurse, assisting with nursing care activities and surgical services.
- Provide appropriate care consistent with the age of the patients served.
