About The Position
The Surgical Technologist Cardiovascular Institute position is a full-time role located in Glenview, IL. The hourly pay rate ranges from $24.86 to $37.29, determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience. The role involves performing scrub duties during surgical procedures, assisting with instrument preparation and dispensing, conducting counts, handling specimens, assisting with dressings and casts, moving patients, and maintaining inventory in the Operating Room and on carts. The position requires a Monday-Friday schedule from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, with an on-call rotation required.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Graduate of an approved Surgical Technologist school or minimum 3 years’ experience as a Surgical Technologist
- Current CPR certification required
Nice To Haves
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) highly preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform scrub person duties during the intraoperative phase of surgical procedures
- Assist in the preparation and dispensing of instruments, equipment and supplies required for surgical procedures
- Conduct all instrument, needle, sharps and sponge counts, as well as handle specimens
- Assist in the application of dressings or casts and moving patients
- Assist in decontamination/reprocessing area when assigned
- Maintain inventory in Operating Room and on carts
