About The Position

Surgical Technologists assist with procedures by preparing and sterilizing procedure rooms, equipment, and instruments. They also prepare patients for procedures and contribute to a positive patient experience. A strong understanding of surgical technology and procedures is necessary, with experience in instrumentation being highly preferred.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program and/or other relevant qualification for employment following applicable state laws and regulations.
Experience with instrumentation.
Current BCLS.
Development and maintenance of effective relationships with medical and administrative staff, patients, and the public.
Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
Ability to remain calm and poised in urgent situations.
Skill in exercising initiative, judgment, problem-solving, and decision making.
Ability to set priorities and avoid crises management.
Knowledge of surgical technology, medical terminology, sterilization techniques, and procedures.
Knowledge of computer systems and applications.
Able to lift to 50 pounds independently.

Nice To Haves

Experience with instrumentation is greatly preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare sterile operating rooms for surgeries.
Sterilize equipment and instruments.
Stock adequate supplies for surgery.
Prepare patients for surgery by washing and disinfecting incision sites.
Provide support during surgery by passing instruments and other supplies.
Track surgical supplies.
Stay up to date on surgical technology, medical terminology, and procedures.
Work well with providers, nurses, and staff.
Help provide great patient care.
Comply with applicable laws and regulations.
Comply with Mays & Schnapp Code of Conduct, policies and procedures, and compliance training program.
