About The Position

Capitola Surgery Center is seeking a skilled and motivated Surgical Technologist to join its outpatient surgery team. The role supports surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in delivering patient care and ensuring successful surgical procedures. The Surgical Technologist prepares and maintains a sterile and efficient operating room environment, provides instruments and supplies during operations, and helps maintain patient safety. The position is full-time in Capitola, California, and offers a Monday–Friday schedule. Compensation is $41.10–$63.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience as a Surgical Scrub Tech in an outpatient or surgical setting.
In-depth knowledge of surgical instruments, sterile techniques, and operating room procedures.
Strong attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification or equivalent certification.
Associate degree or completion of a surgical technology program.

Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain sterile environments for surgical procedures.
Provide surgeons and surgical staff with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment during operations.
Perform instrument counts before, during, and after procedures to ensure accuracy and patient safety.
Anticipate the surgical team's needs and respond promptly to requests during procedures.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the operating room and surrounding areas.
Assist with patient positioning and draping as needed.
Document and report issues or concerns related to surgical instruments or equipment.
Follow infection control policies and procedures.
