About The Position
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist for a travel assignment in a fast-paced Operating Room setting. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and operating room protocols while supporting surgeons and nursing staff in delivering high-quality patient care.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program (Civilian or Military)
- Current NBSTSA Certification required
- Active BLS Certification required
Nice To Haves
- Strong Orthopedic surgical experience highly preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons and registered nurses during a variety of surgical procedures
- Prepare and maintain sterile operating room environments according to AORN standards
- Set up surgical instruments, equipment, sterile drapes, and supplies for procedures
- Pass instruments and sterile supplies during surgery
- Assist with retractors, sutures, specimen handling, and surgical dressings
- Ensure all surgical instruments and specialty equipment are available and functioning properly
- Support patient positioning and transport within the surgical suite
- Prepare and label medications under the direction of the surgeon and RN
- Assist with room turnover and restocking between procedures
- Maintain infection control and patient safety standards at all times
- Participate in orientation, staff education, and teamwork initiatives within the department
