About The Position
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist for a travel assignment in a fast-paced Operating Room environment. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with strong general OR experience and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient care and surgical excellence.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program (Civilian or Military)
- Current NBSTSA Certification required
- Current BLS Certification required
- Minimum recent Operating Room experience required
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
Nice To Haves
- Strong Orthopedic surgical experience highly preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons and nursing staff during a variety of surgical procedures
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, equipment, drapes, and solutions
- Maintain sterile technique and infection control standards throughout procedures
- Pass instruments and sterile supplies during surgery
- Assist with retractors, sutures, counts, specimen handling, and surgical dressings
- Prepare and label medications under the direction of the RN and surgeon
- Ensure availability and functionality of case-specific instruments and equipment
- Assist with patient positioning, transport, and transfer to recovery areas
- Support room turnover and restocking between procedures
- Collaborate with surgical team members to ensure safe, efficient patient care
- Participate in orientation, education, and departmental quality initiatives
