About The Position
DISC Surgery Center is seeking a per diem Surgical Technologist for its Marina Del Rey location. The schedule will be based on surgery center volume. DISC Surgery Center provides spine care, orthopedics, interventional pain management, and sports medicine through outpatient surgery centers and clinics, with a focus on minimally invasive surgical solutions.
Requirements
- Graduate of a recognized and accredited Surgical Technician Program.
- One year of work experience as a Surgical Tech.
- Successful completion of a BCLS course within 90 days of employment or current BCLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures.
- Assist with skin preparation and draping of patients.
- Assist with the care, preparation, maintenance, and after-care of sterile and unsterile supplies and equipment.
- Remove drapes at the end of procedures, cleanse patients of prep solution, and apply dressings as needed.
- Clean and disinfect instruments and equipment after use.
- Participate in sponge, instrument, and needle counts with the circulating nurse.
- Assist with stocking, replenishing, and preparing supplies.
- Check the updated schedule each morning and prepare room supplies and equipment.
- Back up the materials manager in placing orders for supplies and implants.
