This Surgical Technologist position supports the Main Operating Room at Baptist Medical Center South. The role is Full-Time Days, working Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, and requires taking call. The Surgical Technologist works as part of the surgical services and operating room teams in the Main OR, assisting the surgical team during surgeries, ensuring a sterile environment, handing instruments to surgeons, and maintaining patient safety. Responsibilities include cleaning and restocking the operating room between surgeries. Precision, attention to detail, and teamwork are essential for providing quality patient care.

Requirements

Less than 1 year Surgical Technologist Experience
Vocational School or Associates Degree Required
Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
Call is required for this position

Responsibilities

Assembling, organizing and maintaining a sterile field for operative procedures
Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and progression of the case and prepare accordingly
Proper disposition of specimens and instruments
Works with entire surgical team to minimize anesthesia time and promote patient safety
Assist the surgical team during surgeries
Ensure a sterile environment
Hand instruments to surgeons during procedures
Maintain patient safety
Clean and restock the operating room between surgeries
