About The Position

We are seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join our Main Operating Room team at Baptist Medical Center South. This Full-Time Days position involves working Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, with on-call responsibilities. The role is integral to the surgical services and operating room teams, assisting surgeons during procedures, maintaining a sterile environment, handling instruments, and ensuring patient safety. Responsibilities also include cleaning and restocking the operating room between surgeries, emphasizing precision, attention to detail, and teamwork for quality patient care.

Requirements

Less than 1 year Surgical Technologist Experience
Vocational School or Associates Degree Required
Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
Certified Surgical Technologist

Responsibilities

Assembling, organizing and maintaining a sterile field for operative procedures
Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and progression of the case and prepare accordingly
Proper disposition of specimens and instruments
Works with entire surgical team to minimize anesthesia time and promote patient safety
Call is required for this position.
Assist the surgical team during surgeries
Ensure a sterile environment
Hand instruments to surgeons during procedures
Maintain patient safety
Clean and restock the operating room between surgeries
