About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join a high-acuity Orthopedic and Spine surgical team in Peoria, Illinois. This specialized service line provides adult and pediatric musculoskeletal care across six dedicated operating rooms. Surgical procedures range from routine orthopedic cases to complex trauma and spine procedures. This is an excellent opportunity for a Surgical Technologist who enjoys orthopedic surgery, complex instrumentation, and working alongside a specialized surgical team in a fast-paced operating room environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Completion of a Surgical Technology program with eligibility to sit for certification OR Minimum of 2 years of Surgical Technologist/Technician experience if a Surgical Technology program has not been completed
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification required
  • Completion of a Surgical Technology program and Surgical Technologist certification with at least 3 years of Surgical Technologist experience OR Minimum of 5 years of Surgical Technologist experience without certification

  • Orthopedic, spine, trauma, total joint, or sports medicine surgical experience

Responsibilities

  • Prepare operating rooms, surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment for orthopedic and spine procedures
  • Assist surgeons and the perioperative team throughout surgical procedures
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team
  • Support total joint replacement and arthroplasty procedures
  • Assist with sports medicine and arthroscopy cases
  • Support fracture and orthopedic trauma surgeries
  • Assist with spine procedures and other musculoskeletal cases
  • Maintain sterile technique and infection prevention standards
  • Ensure surgical equipment and instrumentation are functioning properly
  • Recognize significant patient conditions or reactions and communicate concerns to the appropriate care team
  • Participate in weekend, holiday, and call rotations
