About The Position

The scope of responsibility of the Surgical Technologist includes the ability to anticipate, plan for, and respond to the needs of the patient, surgeon, and other team members. Maintains confidentiality of information regarding patients, patient families, coworkers, and physicians.

Requirements

• High school diploma or the equivalent GED.
• Graduate of a Surgical Technologist program or provide evidence of employment as a Surgical Technologist prior to July 1, 2009.
• Current certified surgical technologist certification; or obtain certification within 12 months completion of a degree from an accredited school of surgical technology; or provide evidence of employment as a certified surgical technologist prior to July 1, 2009; or be a current valid licensed practitioner providing evidence of employment as a surgical technologist.
• Certification must be renewed every four years.
• Complete required 15 CEU credits annually.
• Maintain current CPR certification.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of general computer skills and applications.
• Able to lift 50 pounds; 100 pounds shared lifting.

Nice To Haves

• Healthcare experience preferred.
