About The Position

ChristianaCare is seeking a per-diem Surgical Technologist for its Operating Room/Perioperative Per Diem Team. The role serves in operating rooms at Christiana Hospital, Christiana Surgery Center, and Wilmington Hospital as operational needs require, across the Newark and Wilmington campuses.

Per-diem staff may commit to 84 hours in four-week blocks. Available shifts are 8, 10, or 12 hours. The first month requires a commitment to 10 day-shift training shifts to attend New Employee Orientation and complete training. Pay is a flat $35.00 per hour based on an 84-hour monthly commitment. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program for employees hired after 2009.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• BLS certification.

Nice To Haves

• BCLS certification is preferred but not required at initial employment.
• Certification from an approved certification body, such as the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) and/or the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) as a CST, is preferred but not required at initial employment.

Responsibilities
