About The Position

The Surgical Technologist I functions as a team member during the preoperative, intra-operative and postoperative phases of the surgical procedure. Requirements

  • One (1) year recent hospital experience in the capacity of a Surgical Technologist OR two years recent surgery center experience in the capacity of a Surgical Tech OR Graduate of an accredited Operation Room Technician course OR has successfully completed Enloe Medical Center’s hospital based Surgical Technologist Training Program OR a current Enloe employee who has applied and been accepted into the Surgical Tech Trainee Program
  • Current CPR recognition
  • Technical competence, professional judgment and sensitivity for the patient and family in crisis.
  • Ability to interact professionally and effectively communicate with physicians, staff, patients, and public.
  • Basic skills appropriate to the role of the Surgical Technologist.
  • Ability to work within a decentralized model of patient care delivery.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and problem solve efficiently.
  • Ability to work in a demanding environment while remaining calm, efficient and focused.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

  • Membership in a national surgical technologist organization
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist

Responsibilities
