About The Position

MercyOne is hiring a Surgical Technician to join its Operating Room. The role prepares the operating room for surgical procedures, including instruments, equipment, and supplies, and maintains the sterile field during procedures. The technician will scrub more general cases, which may include general surgery, gynecology, urology, podiatry, and plastics, and may serve as a second, third, or fourth scrub in all surgical specialties. The role adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and carries out services and related duties in accordance with the organization's mission, vision, values, and cultural beliefs. This is a full-time position scheduled for 40 hours per week on days, with shifts from 6:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. or 6:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.; 8- and 10-hour shifts are available. Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology, completion of a surgical technician apprenticeship, or completion of a military program; alternatively, graduate of an LPN program with surgical experience or equivalent experience demonstrating competency.
CST certification is preferred but not required in Iowa; it is required within 18 months of hire for work in Illinois.
An LPN license is required for graduates of an LPN program.
BLS certification.
Mandatory Reporter qualification.
Ability to work with diverse groups of people and under pressure, with a high degree of independence and accountability.
Ability to accept responsibility for the direction, control, or planning of an activity.
Adaptability to performing varied duties and changing tasks without loss of efficiency or composure.
