About The Position

Under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, the Surgical Technologist is responsible for patient care and safety during surgical procedures. Duties include preparing the case and patient, properly handling surgical instruments and equipment, preparing the sterile field according to the procedure and surgeon's preferences, and anticipating the surgeon's needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Certified Surgical Technologist or Certified Operating Room Technician certification. Certification requirements apply only to individuals hired after December 29, 2020.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the case and patient for surgical procedures.
• Handle surgical instruments and equipment properly.
• Prepare the sterile field according to the procedure and surgeon's preferences.
• Anticipate the surgeon's needs.
• Support patient care and safety during surgical procedures under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.
