About The Position

The Surgical Technician Non-Certified supports surgical teams by preparing operating rooms and ensuring instruments and equipment are sterile and ready for use. During procedures, the technician assists surgeons and nurses by passing instruments and supplies as needed and maintaining a sterile environment. The role requires attention to detail to anticipate the surgical team’s needs and respond to changing situations. After procedures, the technician cleans and restocks the operating room to help ensure readiness for subsequent surgeries. This work contributes to safe and efficient procedures and patient care.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of surgical instruments and operating room procedures.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain sterile techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift or move equipment as needed.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience as a surgical technician or in a related healthcare support role.
• Completion of a surgical technology training program, even if not yet certified.
• Familiarity with hospital safety and infection control standards.
• Basic life support (BLS) certification.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile drapes according to procedure requirements.
• Assist surgical staff during operations by passing instruments, sponges, and other sterile supplies in a timely and efficient manner.
• Maintain sterile techniques and follow infection control protocols throughout surgical procedures.
• Clean and restock operating rooms after surgeries, ensuring equipment is properly sterilized and ready for future use.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support surgical workflow and patient safety.
