About The Position
The Surgical Technologist apprentice functions as a member of the perioperative team assisting the physician with the instrumentation, supplies and equipment needed to perform the surgical procedure. S/he works under the direct supervision of a registered nurse/surgical technician and assists with organization and management of the departmental equipment, supplies, and instrumentation.
Requirements
- Enrolled or graduated from an accredited Surgical Technologist program or successfully completing equivalent on-the-job training.
- Will enroll into the Department of Labor & Regulation and HRMC’s apprenticeship agreement and complete all required steps.
Responsibilities
- Assist the physician with instrumentation, supplies, and equipment needed for surgical procedures.
- Work under the direct supervision of a registered nurse/surgical technician.
- Assist with the organization and management of departmental equipment, supplies, and instrumentation.
