About The Position
The Certified Surgical Technologist/OR Scrub Technician provides proper and efficient care of patients in the operating room under the direct supervision of the circulating nurse. The role requires knowledge of sterile technique, basic anatomy and operative procedures, and instruments and equipment used in operating rooms. The position is in Vanderbilt Health’s Operating Room organization and follows a Friday-through-Sunday day schedule, 0630–1900, with backup call required during the week for the overnight dedicated call team. The posting offers a $20,000 taxable sign-on bonus paid over two years, subject to eligibility terms, and a taxable relocation bonus of up to $10,000 for eligible candidates relocating from more than 100 miles away.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved discipline-specific program.
- Hold one of the listed credentials: Certified Surgical Technologist from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), or Tech in Surgery (TS-C) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
Nice To Haves
- Two or more years of Certified Surgical Technologist experience.
- Orthopedic and general surgery experience.
Responsibilities
- Set up the sterile field.
