About The Position

The Surgical Tech role involves preparing the surgical operating suite with necessary instruments and supplies, both sterile and non-sterile. The technician will assist the surgeon by providing required instruments and supplies during procedures, and will also help with patient preparation, transportation, positioning, and draping. Maintaining an organized instrument setup and accurately tracking instrument counts throughout procedures are key responsibilities. Additionally, the role supports the surgeon in achieving hemostasis during surgery.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Must be a graduate of Surgical Technology program.

Responsibilities

Prepares surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
Hands required and requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
Maintains instruments in an organized manner and monitors and tracks instruments counts throughout procedures.
Assists surgeons provision of hemostasis during surgery.
