About The Position

Ascension Saint Thomas West is seeking a Full-Time Surgical Tech for their Cardiac Operating Room in Nashville, TN. This role involves preparing the surgical suite with instruments and supplies, assisting the surgeon during procedures by handing instruments and supplies, and helping with patient positioning and draping. The Surgical Tech will also maintain an organized instrument setup and track instrument counts throughout surgeries, and assist surgeons with hemostasis.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities

Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
Hand required/requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitor/track instrument counts throughout procedures.
Assist surgeons' provision of hemostasis during surgery.
