Carolina Center for Specialty Surgery (CCSS) is seeking a Full Time Surgical Tech located in our mid-town Charlotte surgery center. CCSS is affiliated with Carolina Neurosurgery and Spine Associates. Requirements

  • Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of related experience.
  • This position requires excellent teamwork and dependability.

Nice To Haves

  • Surgical/Scrub Tech certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in obtaining and organizing supplies and instruments prior to each surgical case.
  • Assesses the needs of the patient and surgeon for the assigned case.
  • Performs sponge, instrument, and needle counts.
  • Provides the surgeon with requested instruments, supplies, and equipment in a timely fashion
  • Maintains sterility of surgical environment
  • Assists with instrument and room clean up
  • Assists with positioning of the patient
  • Uses and maintains instruments and equipment according to safety guidelines
  • Assists with maintenance of stock supply levels for assigned operating room
  • Monitors out-of-date supplies and rotates as required
  • Assists with proper distribution of all specimens in log books under supervision of Circulating RN
  • Adheres to confidentiality standards, especially in protecting a patient’s privacy by using and/or disclosing only the minimum amount of patient information necessary to perform job responsibilities.
  • Complies with all our processes and HIPAA regulations.

  • Promotes a positive work environment through effective teamwork.
  • Other duties as assigned by changing needs, patient flow, or physician request.
  • Participates in department or system wide improvement plans
  • Performs high quality work that is neat, accurate, complete, and on time

  • Asks questions to gain full understanding of assignments
  • Adapts to changing assignments and responsibilities
