About The Position
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking an OR Tech / Surgical Tech for an exciting Travel or Local job in Eureka, CA. This position involves preparing operating rooms, assisting surgical teams, and maintaining sterile techniques during various procedures. The role requires flexibility to float to SPD and Endoscopy as needed and adherence to hospital policies and patient safety standards.
Requirements
- Active California Surgical Tech license/certification required
- Minimum 2 years acute care Surgical Tech experience required
- First-time travelers accepted with 2+ years experience
- Experience in MS, MS/Telemetry, ICU, and some ER exposure required
- Ability to float to SPD and Endoscopy required
- Strong sterile technique and instrumentation knowledge
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Pending California license not accepted
Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures with required instruments and sterile supplies
- Assist surgeons and nursing staff during procedures while maintaining sterile technique
- Perform surgical scrubbing duties for various procedures
- Ensure instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and functional
- Anticipate surgical team needs during procedures
- Maintain sterile field and follow infection control protocols
- Assist with patient positioning, preparation, and transport
- Float to SPD and Endoscopy as needed
- Restock and manage surgical supplies and equipment
- Follow hospital policies and patient safety standards
