About The Position
Join our team as a variable shift, full-time, Surgical Technician, OR in Albuquerque, NM. Lovelace Westside Hospital provides care to Albuquerque’s Westside and Rio Rancho, including a 24-hour emergency department and a wide range of inpatient and outpatient surgical capabilities such as Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT), bariatric, and orthopedic service lines.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or clinical-based program.
- Anatomy and Physiology, sterile technique, medical terminology, instrumentation, and medical equipment knowledge.
- Clinical Competencies; Sterilization techniques; Operating Room instruments and supplies; medical terminology.
- Six (6) months of experience in an operating room or ambulatory surgery unit.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
Nice To Haves
- Certified OR Tech.
- One (1) year OR experience,
- CORT or CST.
Responsibilities
- Assists surgeons with surgical procedures within the operating room under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, including conveying sterile instruments and supplies used in basic to complex surgical procedures.
- Adheres to policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.
