About The Position

Toledo Clinic's RoMius Urology Department is seeking a part-time Surgical Tech or Radiology Tech to work 1-2 days during the week (8-9 hours per day). This position will provide support at our Maumee OH location in an office based procedural setting.

Requirements

  • Consistently arrives at work in appropriate/professional attire.

  • Active Surgical Technologist certification or appropriate RT(R) or RN license.
  • Maintains knowledge of AORN standards and recommended practices and skill of surgical scrubbing techniques.
  • Adheres to Universal Precaution Standards and the policies and procedures of the Toledo Clinic.
  • Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
  • Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist and/or Radiologic Technologist program.
  • Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) and/or ARRT(R) with additional IR experience.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on experience in interventional radiology, OR, or similar setting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and vascular access procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the procedure suite with sterile disposable supplies and ensure all equipment is functioning properly before cases.
  • Scrub in and assist the interventional radiologist with vascular procedures (e.g., PAE).
  • Maintain strict sterile technique and aseptic practices during procedures.
  • Anticipate physician needs by passing instruments and assisting with guide wires, catheters, stents, balloons, and other devices.
  • Operate imaging and procedural equipment (as trained) under physician direction, such as C-arms or fluoro.
  • Assist in patient positioning and ensure comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
  • Collaborate with nurses, radiologic technologists, and physicians to promote smooth procedural flow and quality care.
  • Manage and track inventory of sterile instruments and disposable supplies; restock room and maintain proper documentation.
  • Follow all surgical center, OSHA, and infection control protocols.
  • Participate in room turnover, including proper cleaning and disposal of biohazardous materials.
  • Collaborates with circulating nurse and other procedural staff regarding procedure preparation in accordance with physician preference cards and policies and procedures.
  • Assists in sponge, sharps, and instrument counts in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Participates in Quality Assurance/Improvement.
  • Evaluates and updates physician preference cards.
  • Positions patient on table and moves patient to stretcher after the case is complete.
  • Other duties as assigned.
