About The Position
Corewell Health is offering up to $10,000 as a sign on bonus for this opportunity! About this unit Twenty-five operating rooms perform a vast variety of operative procedures/surgical specialties including Trauma and Open-Heart Surgery Programs. The department provides elective and emergency surgery Monday - Sunday, 24 hours per day. Rotating call, holiday, and weekend assignments. It is a Level II trauma center and has been recognized for clinical excellence and innovation in the fields of orthopedics, neurosciences, women’s health, heart & vascular, and cancer care.
Requirements
- High school diploma Required
- Associate degree or equivalent Required
- Completion of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or equivalent training program (military, etc.)
- 1 year of equivalent experience Required
- Minimum of 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience (Clinical rotations do count as experience)
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire Required
Responsibilities
- Maintaining and preparing the surgical suite
- Intraoperative handling of instruments
- Maintenance of the sterile field
- Evaluation of changing conditions during the surgical procedures, and making appropriate responses as needed
- Maintaining knowledge of surgical procedures and protocols
- May serve as a preceptor as needed
