About The Position
Demonstrates through clinical practice a clear understanding of sterile technique and has a working knowledge of the specialized instrumentation and equipment required for a variety of special procedures. This position is located at Bayfront Hospital in St Petersburg, FL, in the Labor Delivery unit.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Successful completion of a Surgical Technology training program, U.S. Military Medical Core Training, or an equivalent on-the-job training program.
- One year of surgical technologist experience.
- Eligible for and completes national certification as a Surgical Technologist within six months of hire. Accepted certifications are Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), renewed every four years, or Tech in Surgery - Certified by the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), renewed annually.
- Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.
