About The Position

The Surgical Technician Apprentice must be enrolled and is an active participant in an accelerated Froedtert Health surgical technician training program for the duration of 16-20 weeks. The Apprentice I will gain on the job learning with classroom instructions and clinical components of the course. Course work will include didactic and clinical experience. Apprentice I will be paid by froedtert health to become skilled in performing surgical technician duties with sufficient competency. The apprentice I is expected to communicate both written and orally and document work activity as needed. upon successful completion of the training program, the apprentice will move to a surgical technician Apprentice II.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in the FMLH Surgical Apprentice Program.
• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Good interpersonal skills to interact positively and effectively with instructors and team.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Adequate knowledge of Medical terminology.
