About The Position

The Physician Assistant performs examinations, orders and interprets diagnostic and screening tests, conducts follow-up appointments, prescribes and orders medications as appropriate for patients’ medical conditions, and refers patients for further care as clinically appropriate. The position works under the supervision of an M.D. and is expected to deliver outstanding customer service in accordance with CarolinaEast’s Standards of Excellence.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Education Program.
• Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA).
• Maintain current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Work under the supervision of an M.D.
• A copy of the PA’s Scope of Service must be on file at CEP and CarolinaEast Health System.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient examinations.
• Order and interpret diagnostic and screening tests.
• Conduct follow-up appointments.
• Prescribe and order medication as appropriate for patients’ medical conditions.
• Refer patients for further care as clinically appropriate.
• Deliver customer service consistent with CarolinaEast’s Standards of Excellence.
