About The Position

Join the Surgical Team as a Surgical Services Unit Educator, supporting clinical excellence, staff growth, and quality patient care. The educator assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates educational programs for Surgical Services staff. Serving as a clinical resource, educator, consultant, and change agent, this role partners with leaders to support orientation, competency validation, professional development, evidence-based practice, and regulatory compliance. The educator collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure staff have the knowledge and skills needed to deliver safe, high-quality patient care.

Requirements

• Active RN licensure.
• BCLS, ACLS, and PALS required within 90 days of hire.
• CNOR required within 12 months of hire.
• BSN required.
• Three years of related work experience required.

Nice To Haves

• AORN membership preferred.
• ASPAN membership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead staff education, orientation, and competency programs within Surgical Services.
• Support clinical excellence through training, evidence-based practice, and professional development.
• Partner with leadership to drive quality, safety, compliance, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Serve as a resource for clinical practice, equipment, technology, and workflow changes.
• Maintain clinical expertise and provide direct support to Surgical Services as needed.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate educational programs for Surgical Services staff.
• Support competency validation, professional development, evidence-based practice, and regulatory compliance.
