Surgical Services - Sterile Processing Tech (SPT)
About The Position
We are seeking experienced Sterile Processing Technicians (SPT) for our Level One trauma facility. This is a fast-paced environment that requires candidates with comprehensive experience in all areas of the department, including decontamination, instrument assembly, sterilization processes, HLD/scope handling, sterile storage, OR liaison duties, and experience with tracking systems like Censitrac and Medivator. Previous experience in a similarly busy facility is essential. This position operates on an 11 PM to 7:30 AM shift, with scheduled rotating weekends and occasional scheduled holidays.
Requirements
- Experience with all areas of the department
- Medivator experience required
- Must have worked in a facility similar to OSU (Level One trauma facility)
- Previous permanent staff and return travelers are not eligible for return anywhere in the system.
- Travelers who reach the one-year max contract limit are not eligible for extensions or future assignments.
- Candidates who reside within a 50-mile radius of the care site address are not eligible.
Nice To Haves
- Will accept either CBSPD or CRCST (through HSPA, formerly IAHCSMM)
Responsibilities
- Decontamination of all items (Drills, Davinci, scopes)
- Assembly of all instruments in all service lines (Trauma, loaners, peel packaging included)
- Sterilization process (sterrad and steam)
