About The Position

The Surgical Services Educator reports to the Director of Surgical Services. This role functions in collaboration with other OR specialty coordinators to coordinate and facilitate education, communication, quality/performance improvement, and department survey readiness (TJC and CMS). The educator must demonstrate Helen Keller Hospital’s mission, vision, and values through their behavior.

Requirements

• Current Alabama RN license or a current RN multi-state license
• Extensive perioperative experience
• Demonstrates leadership ability
• BCLS required (must be completed within the Orientation Period)
• Demonstrated ability to lead and work within a team
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft office applications as well as the facilities systems

Nice To Haves

• Management experience desirable
• Teaching ability strongly preferred
• BCLS instructor preferred
• ACLS preferred
• CNOR preferred

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate education within Surgical Services.
• Facilitate communication within Surgical Services.
• Participate in quality and performance improvement initiatives.
• Ensure department survey readiness for TJC and CMS.
