About The Position

This position reports to the Director of Surgical Services. The Surgical Services Educator functions in collaboration with other OR specialty coordinators to coordinate and facilitate education, communication, quality/performance improvement, and department survey readiness (TJC and CMS). The role requires demonstrating Helen Keller Hospital’s mission, vision, and values through behavior.

Requirements

• Current Alabama RN license or a current RN multi-state license
• Extensive perioperative experience
• Demonstrates leadership ability
• BCLS required (must be completed within the Orientation Period)
• Demonstrated ability to lead and work within a team
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft office applications as well as the facilities systems

Nice To Haves

• Management experience desirable
• Teaching ability strongly preferred
• BCLS instructor preferred
• ACLS preferred
• CNOR preferred
