Requirements

• Associate degree in Healthcare Administration, Medical Billing/Coding, or other health related degree and one year of related experience OR High School diploma or equivalent and three (3) years previous medical related medical/coding experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Medical Terminology
• Demonstrated organizational and communication/customer service skills
• Demonstrated knowledge and skill in utilization of computer application
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in hospital/medical office environment. Surgery preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge and skill in the use of a computerized electronic health record (EHR) system.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with individuals in all levels of responsibility.
• Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the accurate and timely charge capture (review of charges entered by another party) for all procedures associated with facility activity in all surgery locations.
• Using knowledge of different surgical procedures, able to ensure all supply, time and device charging is correct prior to charge processing and patient/insurance billing.
