About The Position

ChristianaCare is hiring a full time Surgical Scheduler II for our Cancer Thoracic Surgery Department in our Helen F. Graham Center in Newark, DE. As Surgical Scheduler II, you will coordinate and schedule patient surgeries, diagnostic tests, and referrals; arrange medical and cardiac clearances; complete pre-operative testing requirements; and review medications and health histories to ensure surgical readiness. Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Three to five years of experience in a private medical office and/or outside facility required.
  • One year of surgical scheduling preferred.
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating surgical and procedural scheduling to ensure seamless patient flow and support physician needs.
  • Arranging medical and cardiac clearances.
  • Managing OR postings and joint surgical cases.
  • Coordinating imaging, testing, and specialty appointments.
  • Counseling patients on pre- and post-operative instructions.
  • Maintaining provider schedules.
  • Preparing patient charts.
  • Supporting front-desk and clinical staff as needed.
  • Facilitating new diagnosis workflows.
  • Ensuring timely follow-up and communication to support safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
