About The Position
The Surgical Scheduler enhances the patient/customer experience by courteously and professionally scheduling inpatient/outpatient procedures and/or surgeries. The Surgical Scheduler supports delivery of the Jefferson Experience by placing emphasis on the prompt and courteous treatment of all patients. This position will be 100% in office, Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm.
Requirements
- HS Diploma or equivalent required
Nice To Haves
- Customer service and/or patient facing healthcare experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson
- Collect and review patient insurance information to include but not limited to: obtaining prior authorizations (inpatient and outpatient) and referral information and ensure all necessary approvals are in place prior to the scheduled surgical procedure
- Completes pre-procedure phone calls and confirms appointment times with patients via telephone
- Provides patient with all necessary pre-operative instructions
- Adheres to HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards
- Other duties as requested or assigned
