About The Position

Presbyterian is seeking a dedicated Surgical RN to support exceptional care at Dr. Dan Trigg Memorial Hospital in Tucumcari, New Mexico. This role focuses on providing patient-centered care throughout the perioperative process, collaborating with surgeons and the healthcare team to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes. The position is part-time with a 0.60 FTE and involves 12-hour night shifts.

Requirements

• Degree from an accredited nursing program required (programs under conditional status may be approved by System CNO).
• Current New Mexico RN license or Compact State RN license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required for all RN roles (AHA, ASHI, or American Red Cross accepted).
• ACLS certification required for Surgical Services (Pre-Op & Recovery Room).
• PALS certification required for Surgical Services (Pre-Op & Recovery Room).

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered perioperative care using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient needs.
• Prioritize and coordinate care efficiently within a standards-based framework to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the interdisciplinary team to support effective surgical care delivery.
• Support patients and families through education, communication, and advocacy throughout the surgical experience.
• Maintain a safe, professional environment while ensuring appropriate use of time, resources, and clinical standards.
