Surgical Physician Assistant- Ortho/Urology
About The Position
Danbury Hospital, part of Northwell Health, is seeking a full-time Surgical Physician Assistant to join their Surgical Advanced Practitioner Services program. This program serves all surgical patients admitted to the hospital, including those in Observation, Extended stay, Emergency room, and Operating room. The role involves consults, as well as pre and post-operative care across various surgical specialties such as Urology, Orthopedics, Neurosurgical/Spine, Plastics, and ENT. The program is evolving to a 24/7 service, which will include some OR assist. The position follows a rotating schedule that includes days, weekends, holidays, and minimal overnight coverage.
Requirements
- Board certified physician assistant.
- Previous surgical and/or patient management experience.
- Surgical residency training.
- Da Vinci robotics training.

Responsibilities
- Provide services to all surgical patients admitted to the hospital.
- Care for patients in Observation, Extended stay, Emergency room, and Operating room.
- Perform consults.
- Provide pre and post-operative care.
- Assist in the Operating Room (as the program evolves to 24/7 service).
